Area Codes List USA ::
In the United States, area codes are three-digit numbers used at the beginning of telephone numbers to identify specific geographic regions. They are part of the North American Numbering Plan (NANP). Each state may have one or several area codes depending on its population and the demand for phone numbers. For example, California has over 30 area codes, including 213, 310, and 415, while smaller states like Delaware and Alaska each have only one: 302 and 907, respectively. Area codes help route telephone calls to the correct region and are required when dialing long-distance or mobile numbers. In many cities, multiple area codes serve the same area due to high population and phone usage. This is known as an overlay. Today, even local calls in most areas require dialing the full 10-digit number including the area code.
